Market 36 Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Housing Officer on behalf of a client based in Harlow, on a temporary 6-month contract.
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out tenancy audits, engaging with residents, and ensuring properties and tenancies are managed effectively. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Harlow, working 5 days per week.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Carry out tenancy audits of council properties, meeting tenants and verifying household information
- Identify support or safeguarding needs and take appropriate action
- Inspect properties for repairs, condition issues, or potential tenancy breaches
- Respond to tenancy and estate management enquiries, including anti-social behaviour and neighbour disputes
- Work with partner agencies and internal teams to resolve issues and support tenancy sustainment
- Manage tenancy changes, including letting and ending tenancies, successions, and assignments
- Conduct introductory tenancy reviews and ensure tenancy agreements are upheld
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case notes, records, and documentation
- Attend court hearings, case conferences, and meetings as required
- Ensure estates are well managed, safe, and welcoming for residents
Experience, education & qualifications
- Full UK Driving Licence with access to a vehicle
- Knowledge of tenancy management processes and relevant legislation
- Experience in estate management or housing services
- Ability to work independently and manage own caseload effectively
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Organised, detail-oriented, and able to handle sensitive situations professionally
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (on-site in Harlow)
Contract: Temporary, 6 months
Salary: -23.39 per hour
