Job Type: Temporary - -27.06 Per hour
About the Role
We are looking for a proactive, reliable and people-focused Housing Officer to join our team based in London.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of properties and supporting tenants to maintain their tenancies, ensuring properties are well managed, compliant and maintained to a high standard.
This is a varied role that requires excellent communication skills, good organisation and the ability to deal confidently with tenants, contractors and other professionals.
Driving License is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of residential properties and tenancies.
- Act as the main point of contact for tenants, responding to queries and resolving issues promptly.
- Carry out regular property inspections and tenancy visits.
- Identify and report repairs, maintenance issues and health and safety concerns.
- Liaise with contractors and maintenance teams to ensure works are completed efficiently.
- Monitor rent accounts and work with tenants to address arrears or payment issues.
- Support with tenancy enforcement where required, following relevant policies and procedures.
- Manage tenancy changes, new tenancies, renewals and terminations.
- Ensure properties meet required standards and are safe, clean and appropriately maintained.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date tenancy and property records.
- Deal professionally with complaints, anti-social behaviour and tenancy-related issues.
- Work closely with internal teams and external agencies where appropriate.
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with housing legislation, policies and procedures.
- Attend properties and meetings as required within the Chester area.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in housing, property management, tenancy management or a similar role.
- Confident dealing with people from a wide range of backgrounds.
- Able to handle difficult or sensitive situations professionally.
- Highly organised, with excellent attention to detail.
- A confident communicator, both verbally and in writing.
- Able to manage a busy workload and prioritise effectively.
- Proactive, reliable and able to work independently.
- Comfortable using IT systems and maintaining accurate records.
- Customer-focused with a professional and approachable manner.
