Houding Enforcement Officer

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Housing Enforcement Officer to join a busy local authority team in Haringey on an initial 12-week contract.This is a hands-on role focused on improving housing conditions within the private rented sector. You will investigate complaints, carry out property inspections and take appropriate action to ensure landlords and properties comply with relevant housing, licensing and public health requirements.Your responsibilities will include:Carrying out housing and public health related inspections and visitsInvestigating complaints relating to poor property conditions and housing-related nuisanceAssessing housing risks and hazards and determining the appropriate course of actionSupporting compliance with property and housing licensing requirementsIdentifying cases where enforcement action or further intervention is requiredEngaging with landlords, tenants and other stakeholders to provide clear advice and guidanceGathering accurate information and evidence during investigationsHelping to improve housing conditions for households within the private rented sectorKeeping up to date with relevant housing and public health guidance and legislationWe are particularly interested in hearing from candidates with previous experience in Private Sector Housing, Housing Standards, Environmental Health, Property Licensing or Housing Enforcement, ideally within a local authority environment.You should have:Experience carrying out housing/property ..... full job details .....
