We''re looking for a Homelessness Prevention Officer to join a busy Housing Options team in Calderdale, working directly with individuals and families to prevent and relieve homelessness. What you''ll be doing:Interviewing customers who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, providing tailored advice and supportAssessing needs and developing personal housing plans, including written decision lettersManaging a caseload and carrying out hands-on prevention work - negotiating with landlords, families, and other partiesBuilding strong relationships with partner agencies, housing providers, voluntary organisations, and community groupsVisiting clients at home or other suitable venues to understand their situation and needsSupporting clients with paperwork and online applications for housingAttending case conferences and multi-agency meetingsMaintaining accurate, confidential case records What we''re looking for:Knowledge of homelessness legislation, particularly Part VII of the Housing Act 1996 as amended by the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017A sound understanding of prevention and relief duties, including Personalised Housing ..... full job details .....
