Are you an experienced HLTA, working towards HLTA status, or confident leading classes across EYFS to KS2£
Weandrsquo;re working with a vibrant, inclusive primary school in Chatham with a strong community ethos and a commitment to nurturing every child. The school is looking for a flexible and proactive HLTA to join their team full-time from September 2025 on a long-term basis.

About the Role:

This role is ideal for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant who:

• Has HLTA status, is currently working towards it, or has experience leading lessons across the primary age range.
• Can provide whole-class cover during PPA sessions and teacher absence.
• Is confident delivering interventions, supporting SEND learners, and fostering engagement from Early Years through to Year 6.
• Enjoys working as part of a collaborative and nurturing team in a school that values inclusive, positive behaviour support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver planned lessons and learning activities across EYFS to KS2, in line with the national curriculum.
• Cover for class teachers during PPA and absence.
• Provide 1:1 and small group support, including for pupils with SEND.
• Help implement and maintain positive behaviour strategies.
• Monitor pupil progress and contribute to planning where needed.
• Support the schoolandrsquo;s inclusive values and help maintain a safe, engaging learning environment.

Ideal Candidate:

• Holds HLTA status or is actively working towards it.
• Has experience covering lessons across the primary phase (EYFSandndash;KS2).
• Shows a calm, adaptable, and inclusive approach to classroom support.
• Has previous experience working with children with special educational needs.
• Has a current Enhanced DBS on the update service (or is willing to obtain one).
• Is a reliable team player who shares the schoolandrsquo;s values of community and inclusion.
