The Role
A Good secondary school in Birmingham is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable History Teacher to join their Humanities department from September 2026 on a long-term supply basis.
The role involves teaching History across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, delivering engaging lessons that bring the subject to life and encourage students to develop their analytical thinking, research skills, and understanding of the past. You will support pupils in preparing for GCSE and A-Level History examinations, fostering curiosity and a deeper appreciation of historical events and their impact on the modern world.
As part of a supportive department, you will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality lessons, assessing student progress, and creating an inclusive learning environment where all students are encouraged to achieve their full potential. You will maintain high expectations for behaviour and attainment while contributing to the wider success of the Humanities faculty.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will:
  • Hold QTS or be an ECT
  • Have experience teaching History across KS3, KS4 and KS5
  • Be confident delivering GCSE and A-Level History content
  • Demonstrate strong classroom management and organisational skills
  • Be committed to raising standards and supporting student achievement
  • Have a passion for History and the ability to inspire a love of learning in young people
