About the Role:
A welcoming and ambitious secondary school in Aylesbury is seeking a History Teacher to join its Humanities department from January 2026. You will be teaching History across KS3 and KS4, with opportunities to contribute to KS5 if appropriate. The school places a strong emphasis on inspiring a love of learning, critical thinking, and helping pupils achieve excellent outcomes in their Humanities subjects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver creative and engaging History lessons in line with the national curriculum
- Prepare pupils for GCSE success through high-quality teaching and assessment
- Support the development of critical thinking, analysis, and writing skills
- Contribute to curriculum planning and enrichment opportunities, such as History clubs and trips
- Work collaboratively with colleagues in the Humanities team
Requirements:
- QTS and experience teaching History at KS3/KS4 (KS5 desirable)
- Strong subject knowledge and ability to make lessons engaging and accessible
- Enthusiastic, reflective, and committed to raising pupil achievement
- Ability to support SEN and EAL learners within the classroom
