We are seeking a dynamic and inspiring History Teacher to deliver high-quality, engaging lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for history and the ability to make the subject come alive in the classroom, fostering critical thinking and a deep understanding of historical events. About the Role:
- Deliver engaging and impactful History lessons to students across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, maintaining high educational standards.
- Design and implement creative, inclusive lesson plans that inspire a passion for history and promote critical thinking skills.
- Prepare students for assessments, exams, and coursework, providing support to help them reach their full academic potential.
- Encourage a deep interest in historical inquiry by guiding students to explore events, diverse perspectives, and primary sources.
- Offer constructive feedback on student progress and tailor teaching approaches to accommodate individual learning needs.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to continuously improve and enrich the History curriculum.
- Engage in extracurricular history-related activities, including clubs, educational trips, and special projects.
- Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment that supports studentsandrsquo; social, emotional, and academic growth.
The ideal candidate will:
- Qualified teacher with a degree in History or a closely related field
- Strong understanding of the UK History curriculum across Key Stages 3 to 5
- Passionate about history, with the ability to engage, inspire, and challenge learners of all abilities
- Excellent communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills
- Skilled at encouraging critical thinking and helping students draw meaningful connections between historical events and the modern world
- Experience teaching History at KS3, KS4, and KS5 is desirable but not essential
- Committed to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of all students
