Highways Project Manager
Location: Hull
Rate: £50-£60 per hour (Umbrella PAYE)
Contract: Initial 6-month contract with a strong likelihood of extension
Working Arrangements: Hybrid working, with 3 days per week in the office preferred, although 2 days will be considered
Exciting Opportunity for a Highways Capital Project Manager in Hull
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager to join a Local Authority highways capital programme team. You will manage the delivery of several major highway infrastructure and civil engineering schemes valued between £2 million and £10 million, working across projects at different stages of design, procurement and construction.
The main duties of the Highways Capital Project Manager include:
·Managing multiple highway infrastructure schemes from design and procurement through to delivery and completion.
·Coordinating designers, contract managers, permit teams, contractors and other project stakeholders.
·Monitoring programme, budget, risk, quality and overall project performance.
·Providing regular progress reports and updates to the Highway Capital Programme Manager.
·Undertaking key project-management tasks and coordinating the different elements of each scheme.
·Engaging with internal council teams, external organisations, elected members and local councillors.
·Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required standards.
The Highways Capital Project Manager will have key experience in:
·Successfully managing and delivering major highway or civil engineering schemes.
·Managing projects valued between approximately £2 million and £10 million.
·Working across several projects at different stages of design, procurement and construction.
·Coordinating multidisciplinary teams, consultants, contractors and key stakeholders.
·Managing project programmes, budgets, risks and reporting requirements.
·Communicating effectively with senior managers, elected members and technical teams.
·Strong organisation, leadership and problem-solving skills.
·Previous Local Authority highways experience would be advantageous.
·A highways or civil engineering qualification is beneficial but not essential, as in-house technical support is available.
