Highways Engineer

Good Afternoon, I am currently representing Slough Council, who are offering an initial temporary contract for a period of 24 months with a view to be extended or offered a permanent position for the right candidate at a rate which is negotiable dependent upon experience We are looking for a Highways Engineer this role will be: SL1 2EJ Hybrid 3 days Office based. The right candidate will: In your role as Highways and Transport Engineer at Slough, you will be expected to carry out the duties listed below and engage with the Transport, Highways teams and other related departments whilst seeking the appropriate support and guidance from senior members of staff. Produce design documentation for highway and transport projects, including concept, preliminary, and detailed designs (drawings, calculations, reports, and specifications). Develop and manage programmes of work for allocated schemes. Prepare NEC tender and contract documentation. Assist in the preparation of funding and grant applications. Support project management and quantity surveying teams in developing cost estimates. Mentor and support the development of junior team members. Liaise with contractors, stakeholders, and internal teams to ensure project requirements are met and expectations are effectively managed. Respond to technical enquiries from residents, ward councillors, and stakeholders to support scheme delivery.
