Higher Education Officer
The essentials Fixed-term contract (2 years) Part-time (15-20 hours per week) £14,500 per annum (depending on hours) Hybrid working, with some days per week based in our London office Our Higher Education (HE) Officer is responsible for our work with universities and other higher education providers, working in partnership with University Geoscience UK (UGUK) and other external bodies, in line with our Education Strategy. Working in partnership with senior staff, our Joint Higher Education Committee (JHEC), and Trustees, you will advance the Society''s aims and objectives with respect to higher education, providing expertise and knowledge to ensure the development of evidence-based programmes of work to support student enrolment and retention with the geosciences. Today, we are a world-leading communicator of Earth science - through publishing, library and information services, cutting-edge scientific conferences, education activities and outreach to the general public. We also provide impartial scientific information and evidence to support policy-making and public debate about the challenges facing humanity. We have a membership (Fellowship) of c. 12,000, more than 2,000 of whom are based outside the UK.
