HGV Technician - Day shift
TP Select-is currently recruiting on behalf of-our client-for an experienced and enthusiastic-HGV Technician-to join their busy and professional team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled technician who enjoys practical, hands-on work and takes pride in maintaining and repairing heavy goods vehicles to a high standard. You will play an important role in ensuring the fleet remains safe, compliant and operational, working as part of a knowledgeable and supportive team.
The successful candidate will be dependable, proactive and committed to producing high-quality workmanship. If you have a strong understanding of heavy vehicle maintenance and enjoy working in a fast-moving environment, we would be keen to hear from you.
Shift Pattern
- 4 on, 4 off
- 12-hour rotating shift pattern
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out vehicle servicing, inspections, maintenance and repairs to ensure vehicles are kept in a safe and roadworthy condition.
- Prepare vehicles for MOT testing and ensure all relevant maintenance requirements are completed within the required timescales.
- Work in accordance with-DVSA regulations and Operators Licence requirements-at all times.
- Accurately complete all required documentation, maintaining a comprehensive audit trail of servicing, inspections and repairs.
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with relevant-health, safety and food safety standards.
- Safely use-Material Handling Equipment (MHE)-where authorised and trained to do so.
- Report any accidents, incidents or safety concerns promptly through the appropriate reporting procedures.
- Maintain a professional and proactive approach when dealing with customers and colleagues, providing a consistently high standard of customer service.
- Contribute positively to the wider maintenance team and help ensure vehicles remain available and operational.
Qualifications
Applicants should hold one or more of the following:
- IRTEC
- City & Guilds Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
- BTEC National Certificate in Vehicle Repair and Technology
- Other relevant industry qualifications.
Experience & Skills
- Excellent knowledge of-Motor Technology.
- Previous experience working within a similar role, business and/or industry-(essential).
- A strong understanding of vehicle maintenance, inspection and repair.
- Reliable, conscientious and able to work effectively within a team.
- High standards of workmanship with a genuine commitment to vehicle safety and compliance.
- Comfortable working within a fast-paced operational environment.
