We''re recruiting for an experienced HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / Commercial Vehicle Technician to join an established commercial vehicle workshop in Ipswich.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified HGV Technician looking for a stable Monday-to-Friday role, with only one Saturday morning per month and strong earning potential of up to £55,000 per annum, depending on experience.

You''ll work on a varied fleet of heavy commercial vehicles, carrying out servicing, maintenance, repairs and diagnostics to keep vehicles safe, compliant and road-ready.

The Role
As an HGV Technician, your responsibilities will include:
·Carrying out servicing, inspections, repairs and preventative maintenance on HGVs
·Diagnosing and rectifying mechanical and electrical faults
·Carrying out defect repairs and fault finding
·Following manufacturer specifications and approved repair procedures
·Using vehicle diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve faults
·Completing warranty work and associated documentation
·Completing job cards, repair orders and time recording accurately
·Working efficiently to minimise vehicle downtime
·Maintaining a clean, safe and organised workshop
·Working closely with colleagues and management to maintain workshop productivity
·Taking part in ongoing technical training and development

About You
We''re looking for an experienced HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / Commercial Vehicle Technician with:
·City & Guilds Level 3, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
·Previous experience within an HGV or commercial vehicle workshop
·Proven HGV servicing, maintenance and repair experience
·Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills
·Good diagnostic and problem-solving ability
·Ability to work independently and as part of a team
·Strong organisation and workload management skills
·Good written and verbal communication
·Full UK Driving Licence
·Commitment to continued learning and development

Desirable Experience
The following would be advantageous:
·Class 1 or Class 2 HGV Licence
·Tachograph Licence
·HGV main dealership experience
·Diagnostic Technician experience
·Strong experience using commercial vehicle diagnostic equipment
