Light to Heavy Vehicle Technician – Ayr

£35,000 – £45,000 DOE (£18ph) + Overtime + Bonus | Rotating Shifts | Early Finish Fridays

We’re recruiting for a Light to Heavy Vehicle Technician to join a modern, well-equipped workshop in Ayr. This is a fantastic opportunity for a technician looking to progress from light vehicles into HGVs, with full training, qualifications, and long-term career development provided.

Working Pattern

Rotating shifts with early Friday finishes:

Dayshift:
Mon–Thurs: 08:00 – 16:45
Fri: 08:00 – 13:30

Backshift:
Mon–Thurs: 14:30 – 22:30
Fri: 12:30 – 21:00

Optional overtime:
Saturday (after backshift week): 07:00 – 13:00

The Role

• Service, maintain & repair LCVs and HGVs
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical & electronic faults
• Carry out MOT prep & DVSA safety inspections
• Complete warranty work to manufacturer standards
• Accurately record all work using digital systems
• Work collaboratively to maintain workshop efficiency

About You

• Experience with light commercial vehicles and/or HGVs
• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
• Strong diagnostic skills and a proactive attitude
• Keen to develop, upskill, and progress your career
