About the role We are recruiting an experienced and motivated HGV Mechanic / Technician to support the maintenance and repair of our fleet of HGV tractor units, vehicles and trailers. You will be responsible for inspecting, servicing, diagnosing and repairing vehicles to a high standard, ensuring our fleet remains safe, roadworthy and operationally efficient. Working within a busy transport and logistics environment, you will work closely with the transport team to plan maintenance, prioritise defects and minimise vehicle downtime. Key responsibilities Carry out scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance and safety inspections in line with manufacturer recommendations and applicable DVSA requirements. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic faults across vehicles and trailers. Repair and replace components, including engines, transmissions, braking systems, suspension, steering, electrical systems, exhausts and emission systems. Inspect, maintain and repair trailer components, including braking systems, air lines, lighting, landing legs and lifting deck mechanisms, where fitted. Prepare vehicles and trailers for MOT testing and rectify identified defects. Use diagnostic equipment and software to identify faults accurately and complete effective repairs. Complete clear and accurate inspection sheets, service records, defect reports and repair documentation.
