This is an ideal opportunity for you to be part of a Balfour Beatty business unit delivering projects that range from minor works to major infrastructure projectsThe HSW Manager will manage a team of HSW Advisors across the region and will provide risk-based assurance to ensure that projects in the area are compliant with HSandW requirements and achieving our Zero Harm objectives.What you''ll be doingAs the HSandW Manager (Lead) you will work with the Head of HSW and be responsible for the HSW Advisors in your region and work alongside the CandSE Operation Area Leadership Team to: -Provide risk-based assurance that projects in the area are compliant with HSandW requirements of UK regulatory framework and the UK Business Management System (BMS).Collaboratively engage with both internal and external customers as well as the Supply ChainEngage and develop relationships with design and engineering teams to eliminate and reduce risk through HSandW By Design.Embed a positive culture where health is treated like safety.Challenge the norm by innovating and improving the way we work, whilst keeping pace with industry change and promoting best practice.Embed the Business Unit HSandW Strategy through visible felt leadership in line with Zero Harm Vision.Support the Head of HSandW in the development of statistical and trend analysis.Support work winning teams with quality and innovative HSandW responses for bids,proposals and PQQs.Provide expert support to investigate accidents, incidents and near miss events inaccordance with Balfour Beatty Group Standards and BMS Requirements.In conjunction with operational management complete a local and bespoke risk-based Service Level Agreement with each project which is kept under monthly review.Undertake programmed HSandW support visits to operational projects to provide support and advice to local project management teams and operatives.Produce formal reports using the Project Portal to record planned and unplanned HSandW inspections which review project performance against the UK HSandW Regulatory Framework and UK Business Management System (BMS) requirements.Who we''re looking forThe following qualities/experience are required:NEBOSH HandS Diploma, NVQ, Degree OR equivalent level 6 qualification.CMIOSH.Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) competence.Hold OR be willing and able to undergo security clearance through United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV)Strong understanding of CDM2015 - Roles and Responsibilities.Competence in incident investigation.Demonstrable experience in a health and safety advisory role within construction.Strong health and safety legal knowledge and practical application.Experience of delivery of HSandW training.Proven ability to influence and promote a positive safety culture.Demonstrate ability to develop and implement risk free environment using best work practices and innovations.Proven track record delivering HandS support to multiple project teams.Ability to prepare formal written reports and publications on HSES topics and statistics.An exemplary communicator and able to build and maintain positive professionalrelationships at all levels.The following qualities/experience are desirable:Internal Auditor qualification (ISO 45001, ISO 9001 and or 14001)Experience in working within defence and nuclear environmentsWhy work for usDay in, day out, our teams deliver some of the UK''s most ambitious, exciting and meaningful projects; developing, building and maintaining the vital infrastructure that supports national economies and strengthens communities.Why join us?As if contributing to and supporting work that makes life better for millions wasn''t rewarding enough, we offer a full range of benefits too.
