The role will focus on quantifying the economic and social impact of services for local residents.Key Responsibilities of the Interim Health Economist:Lead economic evaluations, including cost–benefit and cost-effectiveness analyses of public health interventionsMeasure and monetise health and social outcomes using recognised economic evaluation methodsCollect, clean, and analyse datasets on health, demographics, social outcomes, and service useDesign logic models and impact pathways to map causal links between interventions and outcomesCollaborate with council colleagues to ensure integrated, cross-disciplinary approachesPrepare clear reports and presentations for both internal and external audiencesEngage stakeholders effectively by translating complex economic findings into practical, evidence-based insightsSkills, experience and knowledge required of the Interim Health Economist:EssentialPostgraduate degree in Economics, Heath economics, Public Policy, or related fieldExperience in conducting cost-benefit analyses, preferably in the health and social policy domainStrong quantitative and data analysis skillsDesirableKnowledge of public health metrics, e.g. QALYExperience working within or alongside local or national government, NHS, Public health bodies,Understanding equity weighing and methods to assess social impact*Venn Group’s “Recommendation Scheme”:
