An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated health care support worker to join our award winning stroke service. Over the past 20 years stroke care has changed dramatically. Stroke is now treated as a medical emergency, where time is brain, and our service has developed to reflect this. Our needs lead service admitting patients aged 18 upwards comprises of a dynamic multi disciplinary team, including research staff, that deliver evidence based patient centred care along our stroke pathway, from admission through to discharge to the community. Direct patient care focusing on the specific needs of the individualAll aspects of personal care and adherence to Infection Prevention policiesMaintain general cleanliness and tidiness on the wardMaintain effective communication with patients, their relatives and professional colleaguesWork under direct supervision and support of a Registered NurseTraining and Development
Comprehensive training academy on joining the organisation and a mandatory training package to support developing clinical skillsAnnual stroke specific training to support the needs of our patient groupWorking for the Trust
Interviews for this position will be held in person ONLY at York Hospital.
