York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust .An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated health care support worker to join our stroke service. Our service admits patients aged 18 upwards with a dynamic multi-disciplinary team, delivering evidence-based, patient-centred care from admission through discharge to the community. If you are interested in stroke care and want to be part of a busy, dynamic, research-active stroke service, we would love you to join our team. Interviews for this position will be held in person only at York Hospital.Our successful candidate will be responsible for direct patient care, focusing on the individual’s specific needs. This includes all aspects of personal care, adherence to Infection Prevention policies, maintaining cleanliness and tidiness on the ward, and effective communication with patients, their relatives and professional colleagues. You will be directly supervised and supported by a Registered Nurse. There is a comprehensive training academy when you join the organisation and a mandatory training package to develop your clinical skills. We also offer annual stroke-specific training to support our patients’ needs.Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care and support based on individual needs.Uphold infection prevention policies and maintain ward cleanliness and tidiness.Maintain effective communication with patients, relatives and professional colleagues.Receive supervision and support from a Registered Nurse.Engage with the organisation’s training academy and mandatory training package to develop clinical skills.Participate in annual stroke-specific training programs.Qualifications and Requirements
Undertaking or willing to undertake appropriate training; capable of working within a multidisciplinary team.Ability to provide compassionate personal care and support to patients aged 18 and over.Commitment to Infection Prevention policies and high standards of hygiene.Interest in stroke care and willingness to work in a busy, innovative environment.Additional Information
