Health and Safety Officer

Health and Safety Officer Yeovil Yolk Recruitment is supporting a well-established business with the recruitment of a Health and Safety Officer. They are looking for a proactive Health and Safety professional with experience within a manufacturing, engineering or industrial environment to help maintain high standards of workplace safety and compliance. The role will involve supporting risk assessments, audits and inspections, investigating incidents, improving safe working practices and providing practical Health and Safety guidance and training across the business. This is what you''ll be doing: Supporting the development, implementation and maintenance of the company''s Health and Safety Management System. Developing and reviewing risk assessments, policies, procedures and safe systems of work. Conducting workplace inspections, audits and risk assessments, identifying areas for improvement. Investigating accidents, incidents and near misses, implementing corrective and preventative actions. Delivering inductions, toolbox talks and safety briefings while promoting a positive safety culture across the business. The experience you''ll need in this role: Previous Health and Safety experience within a manufacturing, engineering or industrial environment. Strong knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation, including the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974. NEBOSH General Certificate or an equivalent recognised qualification.
