Health and Safety Officer

Location: Basildon Industry: Aerospace Manufacturing Full-Time Permanent About the Role We are seeking a proactive and experienced Health and Safety Officer to join our aerospace manufacturing team in Essex. This is a key position responsible for leading Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) activities across the site, ensuring compliance with legislation, promoting a positive safety culture, and driving continuous improvement. Working closely with operational and leadership teams, you will play a vital role in maintaining the highest standards of health, safety and environmental performance within a highly regulated engineering environment. Key Responsibilities As our Health and Safety Officer, you will: Lead all Health, Safety and Environmental activities across the Basildon site. Promote a positive safety culture with a focus on continuous improvement and achieving zero harm. Ensure compliance with UK Health and Safety legislation, environmental regulations and company policies. Develop, implement and maintain HSE management systems, policies and procedures. Conduct regular site inspections, audits and workplace assessments, ensuring corrective actions are completed. Lead accident, incident and near-miss investigations, producing reports and recommendations. Carry out and support risk assessments, COSHH assessments and safe systems of work.
