Job Title: Head of Procurement (Interim)Location: Gosport Town Hall / Hybrid WorkingRate: £300 per day (PAYE) + holiday pay Contract: Interim (April 2026 - October 2026)Hours: 37 hours per weekWe are working with Portsmouth City Council to recruit an experienced Head of Procurement (Interim) to lead a high-performing procurement and insurance function.This is a key leadership role responsible for delivering strategic procurement across the organisation, ensuring compliance with legislation, and driving value for money across all council spend.Key Responsibilities:Lead and manage the Procurement and Insurance serviceDeliver complex, high-value procurement projectsEnsure compliance with procurement legislation and Contract Procedure RulesProvide expert advice to senior stakeholders across the CouncilOversee procurement systems, processes, and governance frameworksManage budgets and ensure effective financial controlLead, develop and support the Procurement and Insurance teamAct as the Council''s Insurance Officer, ensuring appropriate cover and risk managementRepresent the Council at external forums and stakeholder meetings About You:Extensive experience in public sector procurementStrong knowledge of UK procurement legislation and best practiceProven experience leading teams and managing complex procurement activityAbility to influence and advise senior stakeholdersExperience in contract management, governance, and complianceWhat is on offer:£300 per day PAYEHybrid ..... full job details .....
