Head of Operations

We are recruiting for a Head of Operations for the Hampshire & Sussex are for a major client of ours who are a seriously big player in their field. This is a full time, permanent position offering up to £75k DOE + full ops tool kit (vehicle, phone, laptop, etc.)
About the Role
You''ll be stepping into a senior operational leadership role where safety, people, and delivery standards sit front and centre. This is a fast paced, multi-site environment that needs a Head of Operations who can balance strategic thinking with hands-on leadership. This role needs someone who can keep the engine running smoothly while driving performance, compliance, and commercial success.
As Head of Operations you''ll be owning:
Strategic Leadership & Operational Control
·Oversee day-to-day operations across the region, keeping everything aligned with business goals.
·Drive strategic improvements that boost efficiency, streamline processes, and elevate service delivery.
·Stay ahead of industry changes, compliance requirements, and best practice.
·Make smart use of people, kit, and resources to maximise productivity.
·Own commercial performance including P&L, budgets, targets, the whole lot!
Performance, KPIs & Continuous Improvement
·Analyse performance data and turn insights into action.
·Champion a culture of improvement, innovation, and proactive problem solving.
·Implement KPIs that actually mean something including tracking logistics, work flow, and operational efficiency.
·Lead cost saving, waste reduction and sustainability initiatives.
Team Leadership & Workforce Planning
·Lead, mentor, and develop a high performing operations team.
·Manage workforce planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
·Build a positive, accountable, supportive team culture.
Compliance, Safety & Risk
·Ensure full compliance with policies, regulations, and H&S standards.
·Identify risks early and put robust mitigation in place.
·Act as the escalation point for operational challenges.
·Champion safe working practices across the region.
Stakeholder Engagement
·Collaborate with HR, Finance, Procurement and other internal teams.
·Build strong relationships with suppliers, regulators, and external partners.
·Represent the division at senior level reporting performance, challenges, and strategic priorities.

About You
·Full UK driving licence (non-negotiable).
·Strong managerial and leadership experience.
·Confident communicator with excellent relationship building skills.

·Organised, calm under pressure, and able to prioritise effectively.
·Proficient in Microsoft Office.
