6 Months (opportunity for extensions)Seeking a Head of IT Services to lead IT operations across service desk, infrastructure, and control center functions. A hands-on leadership role managing a team of 10–11 people and working closely with a passionate and innovative CTO.Responsibilities
Oversee IT Service Desk, Infrastructure, Project and Control Center teamsEnsure delivery of a high-quality, customer-focused IT operations across a groupOversee day-to-day IT operations including servers, networks, cloud services and telephonyMaintain oversight of patching, backups, anti-malware, and monitoring programmesDeliver priority projects and initiatives, including cloud transformation and adoption of new technologiesEnsure upkeep of handover documentation and knowledge transfer for ongoing initiativesSupport the delivery of natural power products such as RTI, Control Centre and Digital Services working closely with development teams and clientsProvide the technical link between product development and IT infrastructureAssist client organisations with system integration, particularly for services connected to the Control CentreManage third-party vendors and service providers, ensuring ROI from partnersApply and reinforce group-defined cyber security policies locally and ensure regulatory compliancePromote staff awareness of cyber risks through training and guidanceSupport client tender responses, providing input on infrastructure, security, and service deliveryManage local IT budgets in line with group standards, provide clear financial and operational reportingOversee procurement of hardware, software and services to ensure operational continuityAct as escalation point for major incidents and coordinate response and recovery effortsMaintain a unified helpdesk with agreed SLAs, monitor service levels and report to leadershipRequired Experience
Qualification in a related IT discipline at degree levelIn depth knowledge of; Microsoft Active Directory, Office365, Networking (switching and firewalls), Server hardware and Storage, Backup Technologies, VirtualisationDemonstrable experience of leadership roles and service desk or helpdesk managementExpertise in budget management and reportingStrong track record of delivering projects within constrained timeframesCapable of producing structured handover materials and knowledge transferExperience leading cloud transformation initiatives from an on-prem environmentSeniority level
