I’m delighted to have exclusively partnered with a well-established and award-winning global SME service sector business as they look to appoint a Head of HR.  

This fantastic senior HR opportunity will allow you to be part of the Executive Leadership Team and reports directly into the CEO of the business. You will partner with Exec. colleagues to drive continuous improvement and direct all people centric initiatives.

Having recently been acquired by a large global business, this is an exciting time to join my client as they look to scale and explore new markets.

Key responsibilities of the Head of HR:

  • Leading the HR function, taking responsibility for the strategic direction and day-to-day management of the HR team ensuring that it provides an efficient and effective service.
  • Take the lead in involvement and support in strategic global projects to strengthen market presence.
  • Lead people and culture development strategies and collaborate with senior leaders on the execution of business strategies.
  • Provide guidance and coaching in situations requiring conflict resolution, policy/procedure interpretation, performance management, disciplinary actions and any other issues as required.
  • Develop infrastructure for collecting and analysing employee data; summarise findings, discuss trends and provide recommendations to the wider Executive Team.
  • Leading the development, implementation and measurement of an effective employee engagement strategy that supports the organisation strategy and builds levels of engagement throughout the staff team.
  • Coach senior leaders on complex leadership and HR issues including development and talent performance and issues which could have the potential to create a competitive advantage for the company.
  • Drive organisational commitment to leverage diversity for their competitive advantage.
  • Develop and use analytics and trend analysis to help shape and influence HR strategies to support business objectives.
  • Collaborate to develop robust talent management plans to attract retain, develop and engage talent in critical roles.
  • Drive employee engagement and retention plans for the businesses, including the assessment, analysis and facilitation of plans to address turnover and any employee relations issues.
  • Lead a team of 3 HR professionals and focus on team development.

Key requirements for the Head of HR:

  • You will be a highly experienced HR professional who has previously worked as Head of HR or similar or have realistic aspirations to become Head of HR.
  • Ideally you will have previously worked for an agile, growing and dynamic SME business within the Service Sector, however, this is not essential criteria to be considered for this role.
  • You will be an innovative and highly adaptable multifaceted HR professional with in-depth knowledge of employment law and its practical application, and someone who has designed and delivered a range of large projects and initiatives across L&D, wellbeing, benefits and career development.
  • Ideally you will have previously worked for a business with a global presence and have experience with local labour laws, different cultures, customs and practices.
  • You will pride yourself on being a ‘do-er’ with strong intellect and strategic thinker who enjoys rolling your sleeves up.
  • Natural leader with strong coaching skills and ability to keep team focused, motivated and incentivised.
  • Excellent analytical skills and are highly data driven.
  • Experience in collaboration with and coaching others to continuously improve performance.
  • Ideally you will be Level 7 CIPD qualified or equivalent.
