We are seeking an experienced researcher with expertise in research project management and qualitative research methodologies to take a lead role in a NIHR-funded research study. The study will explore what makes it easier or harder for older people with frailty to manage their hearing loss and identify ways to better support them. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a world-class research centre and to work with internationally-renowned experts. The post holder will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate the delivery of this project, including setting up the research project and day-to-day project management activities. The post holder will take a lead in implementing qualitative research for the study and will coordinate ethical and regulatory approvals, conduct interviews, analyse data, and synthesise findings.Responsibilities
Co-ordinate applications for ethical and regulatory approvalsConduct interviews with older people in their homesAnalyse data using qualitative methodsSynthesise data collected using different methodsHost workshops with health care professionals and lay participants to review findings and generate recommendationsPublic engagement activities, data management, budget management, and co-ordinating the activity of another researcherConvene project management team meetings and provide regular progress reportsOversee management and implementation of the project and ensure research governance and data protection complianceReport project progress and results; disseminate research through academic outputs and conferencesWork with colleagues in the University of Leeds and other collaborative partnersManage workload to ensure delivery within timescales; contribute to resource and budget planningProvide training to support development of others; line management where appropriateContribute to development of new research proposals and funding opportunitiesQualifications and experience
Post-graduate degree or equivalent experience in health or health/social care researchExperience in project management and significant experience in undertaking and analysing qualitative researchExperience conducting workshops with healthcare professionals and patients is desirableWillingness to travel for data collection and meetings/events as requiredRequirements and expectations
There is an expectation to work flexibly and travel as required. The post holder will contribute to a national and internationally recognised programme of research within a framework of health services research and will ensure the research is completed within timescales. The role involves collaboration with the University of Leeds and other partners and adherence to research governance, data protection, and ethical standards.Additional information
