Job overviewResponsible to: Headteacher of Primary
Responsibilities include leading assessment across EYFS to Year 6, managing statutory assessments, data systems to track pupil progress, and informing improvement priorities. Lead on narrowing achievement gaps and improving outcomes for all pupils, including those from disadvantaged backgrounds. Lead pupil progress meetings, support high-quality teaching and learning, contribute to timetabling and curriculum planning to maintain high standards across the Primary Phase. Provide leadership for staff, motivate and support colleagues, build strong relationships with parents and carers, and contribute to whole-school improvement within the academy and Trust.
Who we’re looking for
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and strong leadership experience in the primary sector
Expert knowledge of the primary curriculum and statutory assessment frameworks (EYFS, Phonics, KS1, KS2)
Experience leading statutory assessment procedures and data management
Proven ability to use assessment and data to drive school improvement and raise pupil outcomes
Strong analytical skills to translate data into effective strategies
Excellent leadership and the ability to inspire, support, and hold colleagues to account
Effective communication to build relationships with staff, pupils, parents and external partners
A commitment to inclusion and high expectations for every child’s education
