Group Financial Controller

Our client, a specialist organisation is seeking a Group Financial Controller to join its finance team in Poole, Dorset. This permanent role will play a central part in supporting the business as it operates as a standalone entity, with responsibility for group financial reporting, treasury, taxation, governance and financial controls.

• Lead the preparation and delivery of accurate monthly, quarterly and annual group financial statements
• Oversee the consolidation of global financial results, including intercompany eliminations
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, including IFRS and GAAP
• Develop and maintain effective financial controls, governance frameworks and risk management processes
• Manage external audits and relationships with auditors, advisers, regulators and financial institutions
• Oversee global cash management, liquidity planning, banking relationships, debt facilities and working capital
• Lead foreign exchange risk management, hedging strategies, taxation compliance and transfer pricing activities
• Drive improvements across financial systems, ERP platforms, reporting processes and automation

• Lead, mentor and develop a global finance team
• Partner with senior leadership to provide financial insight and strategic guidance
• Support acquisition integration, restructuring and the development of scalable finance processes
• Monitor regulatory developments and assess their potential impact on the group
• Identify and mitigate financial, treasury and tax risks across the organisation

• Qualified accountant with ACA, ACCA, CPA or an equivalent qualification
• Strong experience in group financial reporting, consolidation and financial controls
• Expertise in treasury management, taxation, cash flow and working capital management
• In-depth understanding of accounting standards and corporate governance requirements
• Experience leading and developing finance teams
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Strong stakeholder management and communication abilities
• Commercial acumen, strategic thinking and a high level of attention to detail

• Experience supporting mergers and acquisitions, integration or business restructuring
• Knowledge of major ERP systems, such as SAP or Microsoft Dynamics
• Understanding of financial and regulatory environments across multiple jurisdictions
