Job Title: School Grounds Person
Full-time: temporary/Permanent, All Year-Round Position
Salary: £28,000-£30,000 Depending on experience
Location: Ealing, W5
Start: as soon as possible
Complete classroom services are seeking to appoint a dedicated and proactive Grounds person to join a busy school Estates Team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the highest standards of upkeep, appearance, and security across our Sports Fields and surrounding grounds.
This is a varied and hands-on role, working mainly outdoors in all weathers, and requires an individual with strong practical skills, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to health and safety at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and prepare sports pitches, lawns, and grounds to a high standard.
- Operate and maintain grounds maintenance equipment safely and effectively.
- Ensure all grounds, pathways, and outdoor facilities are safe, secure, and well presented.
- Carry out seasonal grounds keeping tasks, including line marking, grass cutting, hedge trimming, planting, and pitch preparation.
- Support wider Estates Team with general site duties when required.
- Uphold school policies on child protection, discipline, health and safety, and safeguarding.
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience in grounds keeping, landscaping, or a similar outdoor role.
- Ability to use a range of horticultural and grounds maintenance equipment.
- Knowledge of health & safety practices and safe working procedures.
- Flexible, reliable, and able to work well both independently and within a team.
- A genuine interest in creating and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.
