Grounds Maintenance Operative

The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for a Temporary Grounds Maintenance Operative based in Crawley. This is a full time role working Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 4.30pm.

The pay rate is -14.24 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay).

You will work across a mix of industrial, commercial, and private estates, maintaining outdoor spaces to a consistently high standard.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in their work, is reliable, and can deliver quality across multiple sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out general grounds maintenance across a range of sites
• Complete grass cutting, edging, and lawn care to a good standard
• Undertake hedge cutting and trimming
• Carry out pruning of shrubs and small trees
• Weed beds, borders, and hard landscaped areas
• Maintain tidy, well-presented sites at all times
• Carry out litter picking and general site upkeep
• Support seasonal planting where required
• Use tools and machinery safely and correctly
• Work efficiently to complete daily schedules

Requirements

• Previous grounds maintenance or gardening experience preferred
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Reliable, punctual, and hardworking
• Good understanding of safe working practices
• Ability to work to a consistent standard across multiple sites
