A successful secondary school in Welwyn Garden City is looking to train the next generation of graduates and help them take their first steps towards becoming outstanding secondary teachers.

THE SCHOOL:

  • A successful, non-selective secondary school based in Welwyn Garden City.
  • The Headteacher believes in investing in potential and supporting graduates who are keen to pursue a career in teaching.
  • The school offers a supportive environment where graduates can develop their classroom experience and build the skills needed to become successful teachers.

THE IDEAL GRADUATE WILL:

  • Hold a degree at 2:2 level or above, or be predicted to achieve at least a 2:2.
  • Be subject to reference checks covering the last two years.
  • Hold a valid and up-to-date DBS, or be willing to obtain one.
  • Be available to start in November 2026 on a full-time basis, Monday to Friday.
  • Have a genuine passion for education and a desire to progress into secondary teaching.

THE ROLE:

  • Work across the school, supporting pupils and staff where required.
  • Support pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups to help raise attainment.
  • Work alongside teachers and the SENCO to support pupils with additional learning needs.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) for pupils with SEN.
  • Gain valuable classroom experience, with opportunities to lead lessons under the supervision of experienced teachers.
  • Develop your teaching skills, with the potential for the school to support you towards teacher training if you demonstrate the right potential.
