The Team:

Global Risk Management (GRM) leads company-wide initiatives for managing risk and sustaining a strong risk culture, including the development and implementation of independent risk management measures. GRM oversees the bank’s risk framework and key risk types, including strategic, credit, market, liquidity, operational, compliance, and reputational risk, along with governance and relationships with regulators.Programme Overview:

The Global Quantitative Data Summer Analyst Programme is a 10-week internship designed to develop quantitative and analytical talent and serves as a precursor to the Global Quantitative Data Analyst Programme. Interns complete on-the-desk work with their assigned team, applying quantitative and analytical methods to financial challenges. The programme includes learning, professional development, networking, mentorship, speaker series, and more.Training and Development:

Formal training at programme start plus on-the-job support, events, and mentorship throughout.Responsibilities

Extracting, processing, and interpreting data to support decision-making, including potential for complex modelingConducting research and analysis of internal and public data to provide micro and macro views of risk and financial managementApplying quantitative and analytical methods to financial challenges and projects aligned to your businessAssessing market trends and providing quantitative data for internal partners and clientsImplementing solutions using qualitative and quantitative methodsNetworking with risk executives and stakeholders across lines of businessEligibility

Undergraduate or advanced degree candidate in quantitative disciplines (Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Quantitative Finance, Data Analytics, Economics). Graduation between Sept 2026 and July 2027.Minimum 112 UCAS points (or equivalent) and on track for at least a 2:1 degree classification (or equivalent)Available to join the programme in June 2026Note: Some internship performers may be offered full-time roles commencing July 2027; some lines may offer January or April start dates. Deferrals are not available.What We Are Looking For

Essential:Understanding and expertise in numerical analysis, statistics, data analytics, time series analysis, probability theory, optimization, machine learning, or high-performance computingExperience in programming (Python, C++, R and/or MATLAB)Strong technical writing and clear verbal communicationAbility to work under pressure and meet deadlinesAbility to work independently, multitask, and prioritizeFluency in English; a second language may be advantageousTeamwork, leadership, problem-solving, and ability to work in a fast-paced environmentDesirable:Experience with data structures, data integration and data cleaningExperience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Hadoop, Power BI)Experience in financial and mathematical modelingRecruitment and Support
