As a GP, youll be the first point of contact for patients, providing safe, effective and compassionate care. Youll consult with patients on a wide range of health needs, manage ongoing conditions, and support prevention and wellbeing. A key part of the role is building trusted, long-term relationships with patients and families, while working closely with colleagues across the practice and wider healthcare system. The following are the core responsibilities ofthe Salaried GP. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out othertasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffinglevels:a.Thedelivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled populationb.Theprovision of services commensurate with the GMS contractc.Genericprescribing adhering to local and national guidanced. Monitor and ensure the safe storage,rotation and disposal of medicinese.Implementand evaluate individual specialised treatment plans for chronic diseasepatientsf. Demonstrate effective communication skills, supporting people in makingdecisions, planning care or seeking to make a positive changeg. Identify, manage and support patients atrisk of developing long-term conditions, preventing adverse effects to thepatients healthh. Maintain accurate clinical records inconjunction with extant legislation and to ensure SNOMED CT codes are usedeffectivelyi.
