GCSE Tutor (Maths and English) - Year 11 LearnerLocation: Carlisle, Cumbria (CA2 area) Hours: 10 hours per week Schedule: Monday to Friday, 2 hours per day Start Date: ASAP Type: Outreach / Alternative Provision TuitionThe OpportunityWe are looking for an experienced and resilient Maths and English Tutor to provide 1:1 educational support to a Year 11 learner currently living in a residential care setting in Cumbria.The learner has been out of education for a period of time and requires a tutor who can help re-engage them with learning, build trust, and support progress towards GCSE-level outcomes in Maths and English.This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on a young person''s educational journey while working within a multi-agency support framework.Student ProfileThe learner:Is currently in Year 11.Has been placed in residential care outside their home borough.Has experienced significant disruption to education.Requires structured, patient, and consistent support to re-engage with learning.Is known to mental health services and requires a tutor who can work sensitively alongside existing professional support.May present with behaviours that can be challenging and will require clear boundaries, strong behaviour-management skills, and a trauma-informed approach.The Ideal TutorWe are seeking a tutor who has:Experience working with young people with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs.Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.Experience ..... full job details .....
