Job Title: Functional Skills Maths and Numeracy Tutor Location: Runcorn Hours: 5-15 hours per week Start Date: October 2026 Duration: Ongoing About the Role Prospero Teaching is looking for a supportive Functional Skills Maths Tutor to help learners develop practical numeracy skills and work towards recognised qualifications. The successful candidate will deliver accessible, personalised tuition that builds understanding, addresses learning gaps and encourages learners to approach Maths with greater confidence. Key Responsibilities Provide one-to-one Functional Skills Maths tuition Teach number operations, fractions, decimals, percentages and measurements Develop practical problem-solving skills Support preparation for assessments and qualifications Adapt lessons to suit different abilities and learning needs Monitor progress against individual learning objectives Experience, Training and Qualifications Relevant teaching qualification or QTS/PGCE desirable Strong Maths knowledge Experience in tutoring, teaching or educational support Familiarity with Functional Skills qualifications beneficial Patient, adaptable and able to explain concepts clearly Essential Requirements Right to work in the UK Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain the required clearance Two professional references Prospero Teaching is acting as an employment business and education recruitment agency in relation to this vacancy.
