We are seeking an experienced and motivated Freight Forwarder to join our expanding team. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a business that has been built from the ground up since June 2021 and is continuing to grow. Working on behalf of our owners and parent company, BRCK Group, you will play a key role in the smooth and efficient management of our forwarding activities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the complete forwarding process, from quotation through to invoicing, ensuring exceptional service delivery and operational excellence at every stage.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee freight forwarding activities from initial quotation through to final invoicing.
• Coordinate import and export shipments, ensuring compliance with all customs and regulatory requirements.
• Liaise with customers, shipping lines, hauliers, customs authorities, and overseas agents.
• Negotiate competitive rates with shipping lines, hauliers, and other logistics providers.
• Monitor shipments and proactively resolve any operational challenges.
• Maintain high levels of customer service and communication throughout the shipment lifecycle.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiencies and service delivery.
• Support the ongoing growth and development of the forwarding operation.

About You
The ideal candidate will:

• Be conversant in UK and international import and export customs formalities, including the completion of customs entries for both imports and exports.
• Have experience with customs systems; knowledge of Destin8 would be advantageous.
• Possess a good understanding of the shipping lines serving the Iberian, Italian, Benelux and Chinese markets.
• Have a solid understanding of European road freight operations.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of freight forwarding operations and how to deliver a service that stands out from the competition.
• Be an effective negotiator, particularly regarding freight rates with shipping lines and haulage providers.
• Be capable of working independently and as part of a wider team.
• Have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think outside the box.
• Be confident communicating with stakeholders at all levels.
• Have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
• Be driven to develop and deliver best-in-class operational performance and customer service standards.
