I''m working with a successful and growing food export business and they are on the hunt for an experienced Food Technical & QA Supervisor to take ownership of the technical approval process for products being supplied to overseas customers.
You''ll be the important link between UK suppliers, overseas retailers and internal teams, making sure products have all the right technical information and documentation in place before they can be approved and listed for sale.
Salary -40K

What''s the role all about?
There''s plenty of variety, from reviewing product specifications and allergen information to dealing with technical queries, chasing suppliers for documentation and keeping multiple product approvals moving forward.
Knowledge of international food legislation, labelling requirements and export regulations would be advantageous, although this is not essential. More important is a strong understanding of food technical documentation, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple product approval projects at the same time.

Key responsibilities for the Food Technical & QA Supervisor include,

• Managing the QA and technical approval process for products supplied to overseas retailers
• Liaising directly with customer QA and Technical teams
• Coordinating product specifications, questionnaires and supporting documentation
• Reviewing ingredients, allergens, nutritional information, labelling, shelf life and product claims
• Working closely with UK manufacturers and suppliers to obtain technical information
• Responding to and resolving technical queries
• Tracking product approvals and making sure nothing gets stuck in the pipeline
• Maintaining accurate technical records, databases and product approval trackers
• Supporting international product registrations and market launches
• Identifying potential technical or regulatory issues early
• Working closely with Sales, Purchasing, Shipping and Operations
• Helping develop and improve QA processes and systems

What are they looking for?

• You''ll need to have previous experience in food QA, Food Technical, food manufacturing, retail technical or a similar environment
• A good understanding of food technical documentation and product specifications
• Knowledge of allergens, ingredients, nutritional information and food labelling
• Excellent attention to detail - this is definitely a role where the small print matters!
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to juggle multiple products and deadlines
• Confidence communicating with suppliers, customers and internal teams
• Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
• A practical, solutions-focused approach
• The ability to take ownership and keep things moving

Experience with retailers, food export/import, BRCGS, HACCP, international legislation or overseas product registration would be a bonus, but isn''t essential
This is a key role that would suit someone who is organised, proactive and commercially aware, with the confidence to pick up the telephone, chase information when needed and build good relationships along the way.
