About the Role
Based in Runcorn, this FLT Operative (Forklift Truck Driver) role suits experienced counterbalance or reach truck drivers. Working a 4 on / 4 off pattern of rotating 12-hour shifts, two days then two nights, the successful candidate will move, store and handle goods safely across a busy distribution centre. Duties include loading and unloading vehicles, replenishing stock, completing checks and maintaining a tidy, compliant yard and warehouse. Strong awareness of health and safety, good attendance and reliable teamwork are essential. The position pays £15.03 per hour, full time, initially temporary ongoing with permanent prospects for those who perform well. Counterbalance or reach licence required.

About the RoleWe are currently recruiting experienced FLT Operatives to join a prestigious and fast-growing logistics operation in Runcorn. You will play a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement, storage, and handling of goods within a busy warehouse operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate forklift trucks safely and efficiently in accordance with site procedures and health & safety regulations.
- Load and unload goods from vehicles accurately and without damage.
- Transport materials to designated storage and production areas.
- Carry out daily pre-use equipment checks and report any defects.
- Assist with stock movement, stock rotation, and general warehouse duties when required.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
- Follow all company quality standards and operational procedures.
- Work collaboratively with supervisors and colleagues to achieve daily operational targets.
- Valid Counterbalance FLT licence (RTITB, ITSSAR, AITT or equivalent).
- Previous experience operating forklift trucks within a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Strong understanding of health and safety procedures.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Reliable with excellent timekeeping.
- Willingness to work a rotating 4 on / 4 off shift pattern covering both days and nights.
- Experience operating a keg clamp attachment is preferred but not essential, as training may be available for the right candidate.
- Previous experience working in a high-volume warehouse or distribution environment.
- Experience working rotating day and night shifts.
- Basic IT or handheld scanner experience.
- A positive, flexible, and proactive attitude towards work.
- 4 on / 4 off rotating shift pattern.
- 2 x 12-hour day shifts followed by 2 x 12-hour night shifts.
- Full shift rota provided in advance to support work-life balance.
- £15.03 per hour.
