Fire Safety Manager

Good Afternoon,

I am currently representing Lambeth Council, which is offering an initial temporary contract for 3-6 months, with the possibility of extension or a permanent position for the right candidate. The rate is negotiable depending on experience.

Fire Safety Manager Role - SW2 1RWThe successful candidate will:

Be the responsible and competent person for managing fire risk in LBL HRA properties, ensuring compliance with all statutory and non-statutory fire safety responsibilities according to legislation and building regulations.

Provide expert guidance on complex matters to the Head of Compliance, identifying gaps and developing effective procedures to address them, with regular reviews and updates.

Ensure fire risk assessments, inspections, and audits are conducted across all stock, including residential and workplace premises. Develop and implement fire safety emergency plans for all properties.

Offer clear, consistent fire safety management advice at strategic and operational levels to protect LBL HRA stock.

Develop staff capabilities, monitor performance, and manage actions in line with HR and vulnerable persons policies, ensuring staff and contractors are suitably trained.

Minimum Requirements

Solid understanding of fire safety legislation (Fire Safety Act 2021, Building Safety Act 2022, Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022, RRO 2005).

Proven track record in overseeing fire safety in social housing or similar high-volume residential portfolios.

Experience using RiskFlag software to build and manage digital safety cases.

Experience procuring, commissioning, and reviewing fire risk assessments (FRA Type 1).
