Fire Engineer

A well-established fire safety consultancy is looking to add an experienced Fire Engineer to their growing Glasgow team. The successful Fire Engineer will work across a varied portfolio of residential, commercial and mixed-use developments throughout Glasgow and Central Scotland.

This opportunity would suit a Fire Engineer looking for greater project exposure, strong technical development and the chance to progress within a supportive consultancy environment.

The Fire Engineer will be involved throughout the design and construction process, providing practical and technically sound fire safety advice.

Typical responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and reviewing fire strategies

• Carrying out site inspections and technical assessments

• Advising on means of escape, compartmentation and fire resistance

• Reviewing architectural drawings and construction information

• Applying relevant UK and Scottish fire safety guidance and building standards

• Liaising with architects, contractors, developers and design teams

• Producing clear technical reports and recommendations

• Supporting projects from early design through to completion

The successful Fire Engineer will ideally have:

• A degree in Fire Engineering or a related discipline

• Previous experience within a fire engineering consultancy

• Good knowledge of UK fire safety legislation and Scottish Building Standards

• Experience producing fire strategies

• IFE membership or progress towards professional registration

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• A full UK driving licence

Both developing and experienced Fire Engineer candidates will be considered, with salary reflecting experience and qualifications.

The Fire Engineer can expect:
