Fire Consultant

A growing and well-established fire safety consultancy is looking for an experienced Fire Consultant to join their team in Glasgow.

This is a strong opportunity for a Fire Consultant who wants to work across a varied portfolio of residential, commercial and mixed-use projects while continuing to develop their technical knowledge and client-facing experience.

The successful Fire Consultant will provide practical fire safety advice across projects at different stages of design, construction and occupation.

Responsibilities will include:

• Producing and reviewing fire safety strategies

• Undertaking fire risk assessments and site inspections

• Advising on means of escape, compartmentation and fire resistance

• Reviewing drawings, specifications and construction information

• Providing advice in line with Scottish Building Standards and relevant UK fire safety guidance

• Liaising with architects, contractors, developers and building owners

• Preparing clear technical reports and recommendations

• Supporting clients with fire safety compliance and remedial works

The successful Fire Consultant will ideally have:

• Experience within fire safety, fire engineering or building consultancy

• A relevant fire safety, engineering or construction qualification

• Good knowledge of current fire safety legislation and guidance

• Experience carrying out fire risk assessments or fire strategy work

• Strong report-writing skills

• Confident client-facing communication

• Membership of the IFE or another relevant professional body would be beneficial

• A full UK driving licence

Both developing and experienced Fire Consultant candidates will be considered.
