Financial Reporting Accountant

OverviewA Global Asset Securities business are in the market for a Financial Reporting Contractor to fulfill a short term interim role whilst they consider the type of permanent head they need.

This role is expected to be for

3-6 months

and will be office based for 3 days a week, with 2 days from home.

£450 - £500 p/day inside IR35

You will need to be available on 2 weeks notice or less

Duties

Collaborate with a Financial Controller to manage month-end close, reconciliations and financial reporting activities

Financial Control – ensure timely and accurate closure of month end across revenues and expenses, pandl and Balance sheet. Ensure strong coordination of deliverables with subsidiary and branches

Financial Reporting – reporting of monthly results, balance sheet and substantiation of all accounts

Annual Statutory accounts work closely to ensure strong relationship with auditors

Responsible for all tax deliverables – review and oversee all tax deliverables, ensuring timely review with senior heads in Finance team and coordination across the firm

Technical accounting – strong understanding of FRS 102, accounting standards to help advise the organisation through day to day activities, new product approval process and through strategic transactions

Involvement in the annual Budgeting cycle, in particular around technical accounting of key items

Continuous improvement of processes to streamline and drive efficiencies

Maintain effective and strong controls in the Oracle GL system, in particular around closing monthly ledgers

Provide key drafting inputs into regular Exco and Audit committee meeting papers

Person Spec:

Qualified ACA / ACCA / CIMA with 2 years min experience in a similar role within a sizeable Financial Services firm (Ideally in an equities / fixed income environment)
