Financial Controls & Reporting Manager

Overview

Are you a technically strong, qualified accountant looking to take the next step in your career? A leading Engineering consultancy and advisory organisation, a CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified Financial Controls and Reporting Manager to join their fast-growing finance team.Due to internal promotion the role offers the opportunity to work closely with the Group Finance Director and play a pivotal part in shaping the financial reporting and control environment across a dynamic and expanding group.Key Responsibilities

Lead the preparation of statutory accounts across multiple legal entities.

Produce year-end Group financial statements and contribute to the Group’s Annual Report.

Act as the primary contact for external auditors, ensuring deadlines are met and audit processes run smoothly.

Collaborate with senior stakeholders and internal teams to gather and validate financial data.

Review year-end submission packs and track audit adjustments to ensure accuracy in PandL and Balance Sheet movements.

Oversee the preparation of UK GAAP subsidiary accounts, ensuring alignment with Group reporting.

Consolidate and analyse monthly management accounts and forecasts.

Drive continuous improvement in consolidation and reporting processes.

Provide technical accounting guidance across the Group, including updates on new standards.

Support on a variety of high-impact ad hoc projects.

What We’re Looking For

Fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, or ACA).

Strong background in financial accounting, statutory reporting, and regulatory compliance.

Exposure to UK GAAP essential; IFRS experience desirable.

A proactive mindset with a track record of progression and ambition to move towards a Financial Controller role.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels.
