Monday to Friday, 8.00am–5.30pm

Interaction Recruitment is working with a well-established organisation in Northamptonshire to recruit an experienced Financial Controller.

This is a hands-on senior finance position with responsibility for financial control, management reporting, budgeting, forecasting and the day-to-day management of a small finance team.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior management, providing accurate financial information and commercial insight to support business decisions and ongoing development.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Producing accurate monthly management accounts and KPIs
• Preparing consolidated financial information
• Managing balance sheet controls and monthly reconciliations
• Managing cash flow and financial forecasting
• Preparing annual budgets and forecasts
• Overseeing VAT, PAYE, Corporation Tax and other regulatory submissions
• Managing banking and treasury activities
• Overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and intercompany transactions
• Coordinating the annual audit process
• Providing financial reporting and analysis to senior management
• Managing, developing and mentoring a small finance team
• Reviewing and improving financial processes, systems and controls
• Supporting senior management with financial analysis and ad-hoc projects
• Ensuring financial and regulatory requirements are met accurately and on time

You will be a qualified accountant with strong technical and commercial accounting experience and previous experience operating at Financial Controller level.

Ideally, you will have:

• ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualification
• Previous Financial Controller experience
• Experience working across multiple entities or business areas
• Experience within construction, contracting or a similar project-led environment
• Strong management accounts, budgeting and forecasting experience
• Experience with VAT, PAYE, Corporation Tax and audit
• Previous experience managing and developing a finance team
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent commercial awareness
• Strong communication skills and the ability to present financial information clearly to senior stakeholders
• Excellent Excel skills
• Experience using Sage 200
• A hands-on, organised and proactive approach
