About the Finance team

This role is in the Financial Reporting and Accounting team which is part of the Group Internal Finance team at Trustly, comprising Financial Reporting and Accounting, Tax, Treasury, Payroll, Finance Operations and Finance Systems. The team is a dynamic and cross jurisdictional team, which has an ethos of collaboration and continued improvement at its heart.

About the role

The Financial Accountant / Associate role is within the European component of the team, with day to day responsibility for the entities in the UK, Turkey and Malta.

What you''ll do

Month-End and Year-End Close:

Responsible for the accurate and timely closing of books for entities in the UK, Turkey, and Malta, including preparing journals, reconciliations, and drafting/ reviewing financial statementsAudit Management:

Acting as the day to day point of contact for external auditors for the assigned entities, preparing audit schedules, responding to queries, and ensuring a smooth audit process; also taking responsibility for regulatory audits where applicableCompliance:

Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards - IFRS at Group level, and local GAAPs where applicable; ensuring your entities are compliant with relevant financial controls and regulatory requirements for licensed entitiesFinancial Reporting:

Drafting or reviewing year end financial statements, and preparing financial reports for local board meetings on your entitiesProject Collaboration:

Actively participate in finance-related projects both for your own entities, but also as the finance contact on larger projects, contributing accounting expertise and ensuring financial implications are consideredProcess Improvement:

Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes and internal controls to enhance efficiency and accuracyWho you are

Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA or equivalent)Proven experience in a financial accounting role with responsibility for month-end and year-end closeStrong technical knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP is essential (Any knowledge of Turkish GAAP is desirable but not essential)Experience managing external audits and dealing with regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictionsExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detailProficiency in accounting software (preferably Netsuite) and strong Excel skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced international environment, with strong communication and interpersonal skillsOur Fantastic Benefits
