Responsibilities
Maintain accurate and complete books of account to defined standards and in accordance with the group''s accounting policies, structured to enable optimal performance reporting. Ensure adherence to all financial reporting deadlines across the groupEnsure adherence to policies and proceduresSupport with the preparation of the UK''s statutory reporting requirements and audit proceduresPerform UK month-end control processes: Manage all aspects of lease accounting in accordance with IFRS 16 for UK leases; process month-end manual adjustments, including review of project accruals; prepare detailed analysis of project expenditure to support forecasting processes; ensure that all foreign currency transactions are correctly recorded and translated on the general ledger, including accounting of any resulting FX gains and losses and/or revaluation reserves in accordance with IAS 21Project Accounting and Revenue Recognition: Develop a deep understanding of individual projects and the company''s project portfolio. Liaise with project control and project management teams; take ownership of revenue and project accounting and ensure compliance with IFRS 15; continually develop effective transactional processes and controls; apply and enforce the company''s revenue recognition and project accounting policies; validate project stage of completion estimates; manage intercompany transactions; support grant funded project claims and audits; support time and expense tracking systems and processesCash administration and management: Support the UK cash flow forecasting process and forward planning of currency and exchange needs; act as key point of contact for UK employee queries regarding finance processes; support UK/EMEA tax compliance with external advisers and preparation and submission of quarterly UK VAT Returns to HMRC; support the preparation of RandD tax relief claims for HMRC; assist with Statutory Accounts and audit process; support ERP system improvements and ensure consistency of financial reporting; participate in ad-hoc projects as requiredRequirements
To be successful in this role you should have a combination of the below knowledge, skills, and experienceQualified Financial Accountant with ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification preferredStrong working knowledge of IFRSExperience with SAP preferable but not essentialProject accounting experience with revenue recognition and long-term project accounting standards (IFRS)Motivated, proactive and focused on delivering high-quality outputsAbility to solve problems with minimal guidanceAttention to detail and commitment to high-quality, accurate and timely informationStrong collaboration and ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levelsCurious and continuous improvement mindsetStrong verbal and written communication skillsStrong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skillsKnowledge of oil and gas, steel, cement and/or chemicals is highly desirable but not essentialBenefits
