JOB TITLE: Family Solicitor
PQE REQUIRED: NQ+
LOCATION: South Yorkshire
SALARY: Up to £55,000 DOE
THE ROLE:
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Family Solicitor to join an established and growing family law team. The role can be tailored to your level of experience, with both full time and part time applications welcomed.
You will manage or assist with a varied private family law caseload, which may include divorce and separation, financial remedy proceedings, private children matters, cohabitation disputes, TOLATA claims, pre- and post-nuptial agreements, separation agreements and protective injunctions. You will take instructions from new and existing clients, provide clear and practical advice, draft correspondence and legal documents, conduct negotiations and attend client meetings, conferences and Court hearings where appropriate.
More experienced candidates will have the opportunity to take on greater responsibility, supervise junior colleagues and contribute to the development of the department. There will also be opportunities to become involved in networking, marketing and business development as the office continues to grow.
THE CANDIDATE:
Applications are welcomed from Family Solicitors at all levels of PQE, as well as CILEX Lawyers and Chartered Legal Executives with relevant experience.
You will have practical experience within family law, strong client care and communication skills and the ability to manage your caseload effectively. Good drafting skills, sound judgement and attention to detail are essential. Experience in private children and financial remedy matters would be desirable, while TOLATA experience would be advantageous but is not essential. The successful candidate will be professional, organised and collaborative, with a genuine willingness to develop their technical and commercial skills. More experienced candidates should be confident managing their own caseload and may also have an interest in supervising and developing junior colleagues.
THE FIRM:
This opportunity is with a growing specialist family law firm with a strong reputation for practical, commercially aware and client focused advice. The firm places genuine importance on its people and has deliberately retained a personal, collaborative and supportive culture as it has grown. There is a strong emphasis on long term career development, with clear progression opportunities and regular supervision and support. The firm also takes a family friendly approach to working arrangements, recognising the importance of flexibility around family and childcare commitments.
PACKAGE:
The firm offers competitive remuneration depending on experience, together with full time or part time working options and flexible start and finish times where operationally possible.
Once an appropriate caseload has been established, there is potential for agreed homeworking days. Additional benefits include a paid birthday day off, Christmas office closure, increasing annual leave with length of service, workplace pension, death-in-service cover, health cash plan, discretionary rewards and staff and family social events.
There is also the potential for suitable candidates to progress towards Associate, Senior Associate and Legal Director positions, with opportunities for greater responsibility and involvement in the firm's future growth.
