Facilities Officer

Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for a Facilities Officer to join Sheffield City Council on an initial 3-month temporary contract. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitoring and maintaining high standards of building cleanliness, safety, and presentation.
• Supporting the management of contracted services, including cleaning, security, waste management, and grounds maintenance.
• Undertaking building inspections and reporting defects or maintenance issues.
• Assisting with health and safety compliance, including audits, risk assessments, and statutory checks.
• Responding to customer enquiries and resolving facilities-related issues.
• Supporting office moves, events, and changes to building layouts.
• Managing service records and maintaining accurate documentation.
• Working collaboratively with contractors and service providers to ensure performance standards are met.
• Assisting with emergency response arrangements and business continuity plans where required.

Essential Requirements

• -Has experience working within a facilities management, property, building services, or operational environment.

• Possesses excellent communication and customer service skills.

• Can build positive working relationships with colleagues, customers, and contractors.

• Has strong organisational skills and is able to manage competing priorities.

• Demonstrates a practical approach to problem-solving.

• Is confident using Microsoft Office applications and electronic record systems.

• Has a good understanding of health and safety principles and compliance requirements.

• Is committed to delivering excellent public services.
