Are you an experienced Facilities Assistant looking to support a vibrant school community in Tonbridge? GSL Education Kent are currently recruiting for a reliable and committed Facilities Assistant to join a forward-thinking secondary school on a long-term, ongoing basis.
This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on individual who enjoys working in a dynamic environment. The successful Facilities Assistant will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and safe operation of the school’s facilities during both term time and the summer break.

The role starts with a fixed shift (8am–4pm) over the summer and will move to a shift pattern once term starts, offering variety and long-term opportunity for the right person.

Key Responsibilities for Facilities Assistant:
- Carrying out day-to-day site maintenance and basic repairs
- Supporting school functions, including setting up rooms and moving equipment
- Ensuring health and safety standards are maintained throughout the site
- Managing site security and monitoring access when needed
- Liaising with contractors and external providers
- Performing manual handling tasks as necessary
Requirements for Facilities Assistant:
- Must hold an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered on the Update Service
- Previous experience in a similar caretaking or facilities role (school experience desirable)
- Good communication, organisation, and practical skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work varying shifts during term time
