A Fabric Engineer is required across North West London to deliver building fabric maintenance and repairs across a mobile facilities contract. The role covers carpentry, painting, plastering and general building repairs alongside specialist fire door inspections.
You''ll work independently across multiple sites, completing reactive maintenance, identifying lifecycle requirements and ensuring all works are accurately documented.
The Role
As the Fabric Engineer, you''ll:
- Complete building fabric maintenance and repairs across multiple sites.
- Carry out fire door inspections in line with SFG20 requirements.
- Complete carpentry, painting, plastering, tiling and glazing repairs.
- Carry out locksmith repairs and replacement works as required.
- Support standard mechanical, electrical and general building maintenance activities.
- Identify lifecycle replacement requirements and provide accurate quotations for additional works.
- Complete engineer worksheets and customer documentation for all completed works.
To be successful as the Fabric Engineer, you''ll have:
- Strong carpentry skills and experience with general building fabric maintenance.
- Painting and plastering experience.
- Locksmith training or relevant locksmith courses.
- Additional plumbing or mechanical trade qualifications.
- L8 awareness, IPAF and PASMA.
- Brickwork, tarmac, groundworks or wider general building experience would be advantageous.
- £40,000–£43,000 annual salary.
- Permanent employment.
- Mobile role covering North West London.
- Monday-to-Friday working pattern.
- Varied fabric maintenance and repair responsibilities.
